October Stamp Release at Clear and Simple Stamps

Happy World Card Making Day!

Lots of new things are happening at the Clear and Simple Stamps shop! Today, the Design Team is showcasing the October release of not one, but TWO stamp sets - Craft Room and Crafty Sentiments

Clear and Simple Stamps is now offering a larger size of their amazing stamp sets and they are releasing two at a time! That means that you get a little more stamp for your buck! Whoo hoo! Plus, this weekend only, if you order $100 or more, you will receive a FREE Limited Edition Craft Room Bonus Set.

And if that wasn't enough, there's more! CSS is welcoming 3 new designers to the App Team this month. Please join me in welcoming...

I hope you stop by each of their blogs, say hello, and give them a warm welcome!

Now, let's get to my first creation using one of the newest October release sets - Crafty Sentiments!

I used Kraft Like a Rockstar Cream for my cardbase and some pretty paper from Emma's Shoppe. Added some fun layers of trim, burlap, then tied it off with twine.

I then stamped my sentiment onto my patterned paper and tucked in those adorable little pair of scissors (hey, why do they call it a "pair" of scissors when there are only one? The things that puzzle my mind.). Ok, I can seriously see myself using this stamp set over and over again. The sentiments are adorable and there are so many to choose from. Love having variety!

Now before you run off, I have one more thing! Clear and Simple Stamps is getting ready to retire some of their stamp sets to make room for the new 2012 sets. That means you better hurry on over to the shop and get 'em while there still there, because once they're gone, they're gone!

But you can view the Retirement List here, then add 'em to your shopping cart.

Then, have fun checking out what the rest of the Design Team is sharing for the October release...

Use Some Lace! Papercraft Star Challenge 64

Hi everyone! It's time for another fun challenge at Papercraft Star! This week, the challenge is to use some lace. That is sure to be an easy task considering lace is such a beautiful way to dress up your creations. Over a year ago, I found a huge bag of lace at a thrift store for $1.00 and I still haven't gone through it all - best deal I've ever found!

So on to what you're here for...my take on our lace challenge at Papercraft Star!

This card is definitely foo-foo. Maybe a tad too much, but still fun! I used some gorgeous ledger paper from Prima and a burlesque poster ATC image from The House Across the Bay. I then layered up some pretty white lace, Webster's trim, and added a piece of lace behind my flower to give it even more foo-fooness (yes, that's now an official new word!).

I really love the way the flower turned out with the piece of lace layered behind it - so pretty! To complete my card, I used a memo pin and tucked a little butterfly into it.

Now here are the details of the Papercraft Star challenge so you can play along!

You have until Monday, October 3 at 6:00 a.m. (eastern time) to link up your creations. The Design Team will announce the winner on Tuesday to receive two free digi collage sheets from The House Across the Bay!

A Good Teacher

Thought I'd share with you all another card I created for the September stamp release at Clear and Simple Stamps. This month, CSS introduced to you Alpha Varsity - a really fun alphabet set that I adore for its bold outline, its easy-to-color and even easier to cut out shapes! Makes these letters so versatile for any project.

I paired up my "ABC" letters with another fun stamp set - Teacher. When I saw the 3 apples lined up in a row, I immediately thought of tic-tac-toe. So I created my own little grid, stamped my apples, and colored them at a diagonal.

I then framed my apples and matted in red cardstock and placed my ABC's directly onto the frame. Cute, huh?

I also used a sentiment from Teacher and stamped it onto a little tag I cut to size. I just love the sentiments from this set. Just so sweet!

I will be back with the rest of the Clear and Simple Stamps design team on the first of the month. I can't spill the beans just yet, but there are lots of new and exciting things happening at CSS that I can't wait to share with you!

Trick or Treat Goody Boxes for The Kraft Journal

Happy Monday! I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend. We had the strangest weather. Super hot, then out of nowhere it would rain! We even had a little bit of thunder! That never happens here, so it was a real treat!

Speaking of treats...today at the Kraft Journal we are playing along with a new challenge theme: witches, ghosts, and goblins. And since I truly believe that their diet consists of candy corn, I created some little treat boxes using Kraft Outlet's small pillow boxes.

These have to be just about the easiest way to create a quick little gift. I used small pillow boxes, buff ivory cardstock, and black baker's twine (perfect color for this time of year). In just under 10 minutes you can create a few of these too! Just stamp the box, decorate with paper, tie a bow, and fill with treats!

Well that's my take on our "Witches, Ghosts, and Goblins" challenge this week. I hope you'll play along with us and share your spooky creations with us at The Kraft Journal! Remember that followers of the Kraft Journal who play along will be eligible to be featured during the "Feature Me Fridays" posts as well as be entered to win a $15.00 Kraft Outlet store voucher!
