Hexagons & Honeybees | Clear and Simple Stamps Preview Day 1

Can you believe it? Another month has passed and it's already time for another collection to be released at Clear and Simple Stamps. This collection has me way too excited for words. Let's put it this way...if you ever needed the "essentials" this collection has it! From flowers, shapes, nature, sentiments, fun images...Clear and Simple Stamps has got it all for this collection!

Today, the Design Team has created projects using a few of the newest stamps. Today, we are previewing the different "Shapes and Labels" stamps that will be available on May 5th in the CSS store.

I decided to let the Mini Hexagons set be my inspirational guide for my project...

Hexagons always remind me of honeycomb. I stamped a "honeycomb" background using the grid patterns from Mini Hexagons, then lightly stamped over it in the palest of script font using Quotes II. From this point, the rest of my project just fell into place with the help of this gorgeous vintage bee image! She is just one of the fabulous images, including the lavender blossoms that will be available in the Au Naturel stamp set.

To keep this image looking "vintage," I stamped the bee directly onto patterned paper with music notes. I really love the way this has a soft, faded glow. It's the perfect compliment to my color combination of kraft, yellow, and purple. Just like lavender fields on a summer day!

Before you go, be sure to have a peek at what the other designers have created with "Shapes and Labels" as their inspiration. You're going to love their projects!

Stamps (available May 5th): Au Naturel, Au Naturel Extras, Mini Hexagons, Trinket Sentiments

Thanks for Your Kindness | Waltzingmouse Sketch 95

I hope you're all having a great start into the weekend!

For me, it's been a long time and no blog posts. I did not intend on disappearing for this long, but believe me that I've been crafting behind the blog posts and will have lots of new projects to share with you soon.

Today, I am here to share the newest card I created for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge blog. We've got another fun sketch for you to play along with! Yeah!

Feeling in the mood for some bold colors, I found these fun chipboard pieces in my stash to coordinate with pretty papers and a fabric brad from Crate Paper.

Instead of using the zig zag pattern in the sketch, I used a large scallop border die cut. I used the small doily from Dainty Doilies 2, which fit perfectly inside the scallops. Inside the blue frame, I stamped my sentiment in dark teal and some pretty flourishes in light blue using Rescue Remedies Additions. I really like the contrasting colors. Kind of different, eh?

Now it's your turn to create something from the sketch this week. Link up your creation here for a chance to win a stamp set from Waltzingmouse! I can't wait to see what you will create!

Hey everyone! Just a quick post to tell you that I have a new project being featured on the Clear and Simple Stamps App for the iPhone/iPad. I hope you'll have a look!

Card Patterns Sketch 161 Challenge

Hello everyone! Today, I thought I'd play along with the newest sketch over at the Card Patterns blog. The sketch was created by my fellow design teamie from Clear and Simple Stamps, Tracy Schultz!

And yes, you probably guessed it! Clear and Simple Stamps is the sponsor for this challenge! Hop on over and visit Card Patterns for all the details on how to win.

A little stamping using Tiny Fashions. Isn't that dress adorably sweet? And of course, one of my favorite paper collections that I just can't get enough of!

Hope you all get a chance to play along with the challenge. I'd love to see you win some fun new goodies from Clear and Simple Stamps!

Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch #93

Hey friends! It's pouring rain today. Thunder. Lighting. The works! Nature is really giving us a show today, but that's ok because it's perfect for staying inside to get some crafting time done. I just hope the electricity doesn't go out! ;)

Today, there is a new sketch over at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge blog. Head on over to see what the design team has provided for inspiration and then play along with us!

Here is what I created for the challenge...

...a happy little card for the birthday boy! I used Half Pink Heroes and Bitty Banners from Waltzingmouse. Both such fun stamp sets, but even better when combined together!

It's hard to tell from the photo, but I added a bit of Glossy Accents to the window and lights on the car. Super fun! I really had fun creating this card. It's funny how you wouldn't normally think of creating something, but having a sketch to follow sure gets the ideas started!

Hope you'll play along with the rest of the Mischief Makers. I can't wait to see what you all create from Karin's sketch!

Just Thinking of You

With so much rain today, I found myself inside with plenty of crafting time to myself. It was so nice and cozy, although the thunder and lighting made it a little disturbing for a few minutes.

I decided to play along in a few challenges and create something with soft colors perfect for spring. I figured after the rain stops, everything will be in full bloom, fresh and green.

I had fun playing with embossing powders. Something I don't often use, but thought the cameo in a soft pink would be nice for a change. Of course, I added a cluster of ribbon flower trim. Reminds me of a pretty wedding corsage.

I still had the chipboard banners sitting near me in my craft room, so I decided to use another one for my sentiment. I love how the acrylic paint gives it a shabby look.

Here are the fun challenges I am playing along with:
